REMOVAL
All Models
S-Series
Remove belt guard.
Unfasten spark plug cables from fan housing. Un-
plug spark plug caps.
Remove throttle cable attachment from air silencer.
Unplug CDI box harness connector.
Loosen collar on carburetor adaptors. Remove air
silencer. CDI box will come along with.

Unfasten retaining strips.
Open strips and lift battery protective boot.
Remove vent tube.
Step :Unfasten and open
Step :Lift protective boot
Step : Remove vent tube
All Models
Withdraw battery from vehicle being careful not
lean it so that electrolyte flows out of vent tube.
CLEANING
Clean the battery, battery casing, vent tube, caps,
cables and battery posts using a solution of baking
soda and water.

WARNING
Battery BLACK negative cable must always
be disconnected first and connected last.

WARNING
Never charge or boost battery while in-
stalled on vehicle.

CAUTION
Should any electrolyte spillage occur, imme-
diately wash off with a solution of baking
soda and water to prevent damage to vehi-
cle components.

CAUTION
Do not allow cleaning solution to enter bat-
tery interior since it will destroy the electro-
lyte.
