• Press and hold the Jog Dial while in
Standby view (also supported when no
equipment is attached to the phone).
To make the call, wait for the end of the tone,
then say the voice command for the contact
you want to call. See Voice control on page 24.
Making an emergency call
You can make emergency calls as follows:
• Enter the emergency number using the
keyboard. Press the Jog Dial or select
Call.
• Select a predefined SOS number from the
More menu. Press the Jog Dial or select
Call.
Usually no SIM card or PIN code is required
for emergency calls, but you must verify this
with your mobile network operator.
Receiving a call
Managing incoming calls
You can manage incoming phone calls in
several ways:
• Answer – select
Yes or answer by voice
control.
• Send busy
– reject the call by pressing
on the side or using voice control.
• Reject with SMS – reject the call by
sending an SMS text message to the caller.
Select
More > Send SMS. See Reject with
SMS on page 68.
• Reject and create a reminder
– select No
to reject the call and choose whether you
want a follow-up reminder to return the
call at a later time. See Flag Call on
page 67.
Options during or after a call
The More menu contains the following
options:
•
Mute microphone – disconnect the
microphone after answering.
•
Speakerphone on – transfer the sound to
the speakerphone during a call.
•
Show contact – display the corresponding
entry in Contacts or access DTMF tone
sequences stored in Contacts.
•
Add call/Hold call/Retrieve call – make a
call during a call, put the active call on
hold, or retrieve a call.
•
Transfer sound – transfer a call to a
Bluetooth or regular headset or the
speakerphone. See Handsfree settings on
page 67.
•
Create task – create a task in Tasks.
•
Make note – make a note in Notes. (Call
data is automatically entered).
•
Call voicemail – check the messages in
your voicemail box. See Voicemail on
page 69.
