Playback
To start playback, select an album, artist,
playlist, or individual track, then press the Jog
Dial or select
Play. You can also tap on an
individual track to play it.
To pause playback, press the Jog Dial, tap ,
or select
Pause.
Tap and drag the progress indicator to move
within a track.
When playback is paused, rotating the Jog
Dial will browse the tracks in the current
playlist, album, or artist listing.
By selecting
More > Minimize, you can leave
the Media player, while continuing to listen to
music. Playback will also continue when you
switch to another application using Task
Manager.
To return to Music, tap on the status bar or
open it from Main menu or Task Manager.
Adjusting volume and tone
When in Playback view, rotate the Jog Dial to
adjust the volume directly. Otherwise, select
> Volume. You can further adjust sound
settings by selecting
More > Settings >
Equalizer
or tapping .
Managing tracks
If you want to select several tracks at once,
scroll to one of the tracks, then select
More >
Manage > Mark
. You can now select additional
tracks by marking the check boxes.
Within a category, you can sort tracks in
different ways.
Preferences
Select More > Settings > Preferences to
access the following options:
Play
Shuffle – the order of tracks in a playlist,
album, or under an artist's name is
randomized before playback begins.
Loop – replays the playlist after the last
track has finished.
Resume audio – determines how
playback should resume after it has been
interrupted, for example, by an incoming
phone call.
Automatic means playback
resumes automatically after you have
finished the call.
Manual requires you to
switch back to Media player to resume
playback.
Files
File update – choose to have Media player
search automatically for new audio files
each time you open it, or perform manual
updates.
Filter files – set a filter to exclude small
files or file types with low sound quality
