off while charging, the red indicator light will
shut off once the battery is fully charged.
Phone care
To maintain your phone in good working
order, please follow these tips:
• Use a moist cloth to clean the screen.
• Use only the stylus provided, or your
fingertips, to tap the screen.

First use
Please read Guidelines for Safe and Efficient
Use on page 86 before using your phone.
To turn on your phone, press the On/Off
button. Select
Phone on when the Power
menu opens.
Now select a language. Read more about
selecting and installing languages in
Language on page 80.
Turning the Phone On
and Off
Normal operation
To turn your phone on, press the On/Off button
located at the top of the phone. You will be
asked to choose between
Phone on and Flight
mode
. For normal operation, choose Phone
on.
To turn the phone off, press the On/Off button,
then choose Power off.
Flight mode
If you choose Flight mode, the phone’s radio
functions will be turned off. However, you can
still use the organizer applications.
Use Flight mode when mobile phone use is
prohibited, such as in hospitals and aircraft.

Importing Phonebook
Entries
Import your contact information in several
ways:
• Copy phonebook entries from your SIM
card. See Copying to and from an SIM
card on page 32.
• Transfer phonebook entries from a
computer application using the
