Symptom
The picture
is
not output
correctly.
Picture noise appears.
Even though you set the aspect
ratio in [TV Type]
of
[Video
Settings], the picture does not fill
the TV screen.
Color irregularity occurs on the
TV screen.
Sound
Symptom
There
is
no sound.
No sound
is
output from the
HDMI OUT jack.
The left and right sounds are
unbalanced
or
reversed.
There
is
no sound from the
subwoofer.
Severe hum
or
noise
is
heard.
The sound loses stereo effect
when you
playa
CD.
Remedy
Check the [Output Video Format] settings (page 81).
The disc
is
dirty
or
flawed.
If the picture output from your system goes through your VCR to get to your
TV, the copy-protection signal applied to some BDIDVD programs could affect
picture quality. If you still experience problems even when you connect your
unit directly to your TV, try connecting your unit to the other input jacks.
The aspect ratio on the disc is fixed.
If
the speakers are used with a CRT-based TV or projector, install the speakers
at least 1.0
ft
(0.3 meters) from the TV set.
If
the color irregularity persists, turn
off
the TV set once, then turn it on after
15
to 30 minutes.
If
howling occurs, reposition the speakers farther away from the TV set.
Make sure that no magnetic object (magnetic latch on a TV stand, health care
device, toy, etc.)
is
placed near the speakers.
Remedy
The speaker cord
is
not connected securely.
Press MUTING on the remote if"MUTING ON"
is
displayed
in
the front panel
display.
The system is
in
pause mode. Press
~
to return to normal play mode.
Fast forward
or
fast reverse
is
performed. Press
~
to return to normal play
mode.
Check the speaker settings (page 71).
Slow forward or freeze frame
is
performed. Press
~
to return to normal play
mode.
The HDMI OUT
jack
is
connected to a DVI (Digital Visual Interface) device
jacks do not accept audio signals.
Try the following:
CD
Turn the system
off
and on again. ® Turn the connected
component
off
and on again. ® Disconnect and then connect an HDMI cable
again.
Set [BDIDVD Audio Output] to [HDMI priority] (page 83).
Check that the speakers and components are connected correctly and securely.
Check the speaker connections and settings (pages 22, 71).
Check that the speakers and components are connected securely.
Check that the connecting cords are away from a transformer
or
motor, and at
least
10
feet (3 meters) away from your TV set
or
a fluorescent light.
Move your TV away from the audio components.
The plugs and jacks are dirty. Wipe them with a cloth slightly moistened with
alcohol.
Clean the disc.
Select stereo sound by pressing AUDIO (page 53).
Make sure the unit
is
connected properly.
