Troubleshooting
Problems during Startup
Problems on Video Input and Output
Symptom Action
Power is not turned on. Check whether power cables are properly connected to BKDF-901/902 and DFS-900M. After you
checked that power cables are properly connected, turn on the power switch of BKDF-901/902.
When BKDF-901/902 has started normally, an initialization message appears on the display panel of
BKDF-901/902. Then turn on the power switch of DFS-900M. Confirm that the power indicator of
DFS-900M lights green.
Communication is
disabled with “Prepare
communication between
CP and PR” displayed
on the display panel.
Check whether DFS-900M is powered on. Confirm that the power indicator is lit green and the fans
are rotating.
Confirm that BKDF-901/902 is connected to DFS-900M with the supplied control cable (cross cable).
A straight cable cannot be used for connection between BKDF-901/902 and DFS-900M. Use the
supplied control cable (cross cable).
Check whether the LAN cable is properly connected. Confirm that the LAN connector access LED of
BKDF-901/902 and DFS-900M is lit green.
It may take several minutes until communication is started after the unit has started. When
communication starts, the LAN connector access LED of BKDF-901/902 and DFS-900M blinks
orange. If the LED does not start blinking after a while, turn off the power of DFS-900M and restart it.
The following messages appear sequentially on the display panel of BKDF-901/902 during startup.
1. Now initializing…Please wait… : After power-on
2. Now initial communication was started 0/NNN : After OS has started (NNN: Number of stills)
3. When communication with DFS-900M has been established, a value “0” displayed in 2 above is
incremented to the same value as NNN.
4. The initial menu is displayed. When a communication failure for 0.5 seconds or more occurs in
this state, a message “Prepare communication between CP and PR” appears.
Symptom Action
Output video is
disturbed.
Check whether the video format setting is correct. Display the video format menu and confirm that
the input signal matches the setting referring to “Setting the Video Format” (page 71). Also check
whether the settings of display device (such as monitor) are correct.
If the video format is changed while the input signal freeze function (including stills) is used, set the
freeze function again with the updated video format and download stills.
