6.3 Switching the unit on
6.3.1 Preparing the unit for use
Before switching the unit on, proceed as follows:
1. Ensure that
the battery pack is charged.
the handle/battery pack has properly snapped into place in the holder.
The unit is ready for use.
6.3.2 Switching on the unit
To switch the unit on, proceed as follows:
1. Briefly press the button (I/O) under the unit.
The unit is switched on (the green LEDs start to light).
The login screen is displayed.
2. Enter the user password to enable the software.
The ePC displays the measuring window.
The unit is now switched on.
The unit has an internal bat
tery pack
in order to maintain the operational readiness
of the ePC even when the unit has been switched off.
When the unit is switched on, the ePC is immediately ready for operation.
The capacity of the internal battery
pack can maintain the rest state of the ePC for
When the unit is switched on, the internal battery
pack will be recharged
automatically. Complete charging can take up to 3 hours.
If you have not used the unit for a longer period of time, which means that the
internal
battery pack is discharged, the operating system and the software on the
ePC (and, thereby, the spectrometer program) will be restarted.
This happens
automatically and takes approximately 90 seconds.
