6.6 Performing measurements
6.6.1 Preparing the measurement
Before starting the measurement, proceed as follows:
1. Ensure that the necessary safety precautions have been taken.
2. Ensure that only samples are placed before the measurement window that
cover the window completely.
If necessary, use the adapter for small parts.
3. Ensure that the protective film over the window is neither soiled nor damaged.
Use only the prescribed protective film for the measurement mode
selected.
Thin film: Inner protective film 4 µm; no outer protective film.
Thick film: Inner protective film 4 µm; outer protective film:
transparent adhesive tape (part no. 80001098).
Please use only the adhesive tape that has been authorized by SPECTRO (part
no. 80001098) as the outer protective film. The use of other adhesive tapes may
lead to measurement errors.
4. Do not hold the sample in your hand in front of the device.
The measurement is now prepared.
