Preparing coee for the rst time
When preparing your rst coee, the coee grinding chamber will still
be empty. The “Fill beans” message may appear on the display after
the rst grinding, indicating that no coee has been prepared by the
machine.
 If this is the case, comply with the on-screen instructions and
press the right rotary knob a second time.
The machine will then repeat the process.
Procedure for preparing two cups
 In order to prepare two cups of coee to be served in immediate
succession, press the right rotary knob twice in succession at
the start of the preparation procedure.
The “2 cups” message will now appear on the display.
Note: Two cups in immediate succession may only be prepared
when selecting the “Espresso” and “Coee” options. All other
drink options only allow the preparation of a single cup.
If two cups are to be prepared in immediate succession, your machine
will automatically programme two coee grinding procedures to be
activated one after the other. If your machine detects insucient
water or coee beans between the two grinding procedures, or if the
trays need emptying, this will be indicated on the display and the
second cup of coee will not be prepared.
 If this is the case, comply with the on-screen instructions and
then press the right rotary knob to order the second coee.
4.1 Preparing an Espresso
The standard factory settings for Espresso are: Volume 40 ml, Aroma
“Normal”.
Your display will show this information as follows: “40 ml ”.
Your Espresso can be prepared in two ways:
1. You can select the standard settings from the “Recipe” menu.
These are the factory settings. However, you can change these
settings, as described below.
2. Or you can change the setting to suit your personal taste while
making your chosen beverage. The standard settings then remain
unchanged.
4.1.1 Preparing an Espresso using standard settings
 Place a cup under the spout (Fig 5).
 Turn the right rotary knob to “Espresso”. Now press the right
rotary knob.
The cup will be illuminated and your machine will now prepare an
Espresso using the standard settings.
