N Pull out the choke shaft (23).
N Remove the spring (22).
9.4 Assembling the Carburetor
9.4.1 Installing the Choke Shaft
N Fit the spring (22) on the choke shaft so that its bent
end (arrow) engages the lever on the choke shaft
(23).
N Push the choke shaft (23) into the carburetor (10) so
that the straight end of the spring (22) engages the
bore (arrow).
N Pull the choke shaft (23) until its annular groove
(arrow) is outside the bore.
N Fit the clip (34) in the groove (arrow) in the choke
shaft (23).
N Insert and tighten down the screw (35).
N Push choke knob (37) onto shaft (23) so that it snaps
into place.
N Rotate the choke shaft (23) clockwise and hold it so
that its flat side faces outwards.
N Fit the choke shutter (20) so that the number (arrow)
is visible and the small hole (arrow) is closed by the
choke shaft.
N Coat thread of screw (21) with Loctite 242.
N Insert the screw (21) but do not tighten it down yet.
N Close the choke shutter (20).
This centers the choke shutter (20) in the carburetor’s
bore.
N Tighten down the screw (21).
N Open and close the choke shutter (20) several times.
If the choke shutter (20) sticks:
N Center it again.
9.4.2 Installing the Accelerator Pump and Throttle Shaft
N Fit the spring (39) in the carburetor (10).
N Fit the sealing ring (45) in the groove in the pump
piston (44).
N Push the pump piston (44) into the carburetor (10) so
that its blunt faces the spring (46).
N Fit the spring (39) on the throttle shaft (38) so that its
bent end (arrow) engages the lever on the throttle
shaft (38).
N Push the bushing (40) onto the throttle shaft (38).
N Push the sealing ring (42) into the ring (41).
