Stihl BR 800 - Removing the Ignition Module; Disassembling the Spark Plug Boot; Assembling the Spark Plug Boot; Installing the Ignition Module

N Fit and tighten down the nut (2).
N Remove the locking screw 4282 890 2700.
N Install the spark plug (10).
N Fit the spark plug boot (9).
N Adjust air gap between ignition module (6) and
flywheel (1) with the setting gauge 4118 890 6401.
N Install the shroud, @ 7.5.
N Install the rewind starter, @ 6.14.
N Fit the filter cover, @ 7.3.
13.5 Removing the Ignition Module
N Preparations, @ 3.1.
N Remove the rewind starter, @ 6.2.
N Remove the filter cover, @ 7.2.
N Remove the cover, @ 7.4.
N Pull boot (9) off the spark plug.
N Pull off the flag connector (11).
N Take out the screws (4).
N Remove the washers (5).
N Remove the ignition module (6) with ignition lead (7)
and insulator (3).
N Remove the insulator (3).
13.6 Disassembling the Spark Plug Boot
N Remove the ignition module, @ 13.5.
N Use suitable pliers to the pull leg spring (8) out of the
spark plug boot (9).
N Pull the leg spring (8) off the ignition lead (7).
N Pull the spark plug boot (9) off the ignition lead (7).
N If the ignition lead (7) is frayed or damaged: Replace
the ignition module (6).
13.7 Assembling the Spark Plug Boot
N Use a needle to pierce the center of the ignition lead’s
insulation at distance ‘a’ = 10 mm (0.4 in) from the
end of the lead (7).
N Pinch the hook of the leg spring (8) into the pierced
hole in the ignition lead (7) as far as stop.
N Coat inside of spark plug boot (9) with press fluid.
N Hold the ignition lead (7) and leg spring (8) together
and push them into the spark plug boot (9) as far as
stop.
N Install the ignition module, @ 13.8.
13.8 Installing the Ignition Module
N Assemble the spark plug boot, @ 13.7.
N Place ignition module (6) in position.
N Fit the washers (5) on the screws (4).
N Insert the screws (3) but do not tighten them down
yet.
N Adjust air gap between ignition module (6) and
flywheel (1) with setting gauge 4118 890 6401.
N Tighten down the screws (4).
N Push the ignition lead (7) into the guides (arrows).
N Push on the flag connector (11).
N Fit the spark plug boot (9).
N Install the shroud, @ 7.5.
N Fit the filter cover, @ 7.3.
N Install the rewind starter, @ 6.14.
