16.1 Tools, Servicing Aids
– Socket, T20x125 – 0812 542 2041 or equivalent
– Socket, T27x125 – 0812 542 2104 or equivalent
– Torque wrench – 5910 890 0302 or equivalent
– Screwdriver, T20 – 5910 890 2301
– Screwdriver, T27x200 – 5910 890 2415 or equivalent
16.2 Removing the Muffler
N Preparations, @ 3.1.
N Remove the cover, @ 7.4.
N Remove the rewind starter, @ 6.2.
N Remove the shroud, @ 7.4.
N Take out the screws (3).
N Remove the muffler (2).
N Remove the muffler gasket (1).
N Clean sealing faces on muffler (2) and cylinder.
16.3 Installing the Muffler
N Insert the screws (3) in the muffler.
N Fit new muffler gasket (1) on the screw threads.
N Place the muffler (2) in position.
N Insert and tighten down the screws (3) firmly.
N Install the shroud, @ 16.2.
N Install the rewind starter, @ 6.14.
N Install the cover, @ 7.5.
16.4 Removing the Scoop and Spark Arrestor
N Preparations, @ 3.1.
N Remove the cover, @ 7.4.
N Remove the rewind starter, @ 6.2.
N Remove the shroud, @ 7.4.
N Loosen the screws (4).
N Pull out the scoop (6).
N Pry the spark arrestor (5) (if fitted) out of the scoop
without damaging it in the process.
N If the spark arrestor is damaged: Install a new spark
arrestor (5).
16.5 Installing the Scoop and Spark Arrestor
N Where applicable, fit the spark arrestor (5) in the
scoop (6).
N Push the scoop (6) into the guide in the muffler (2) as
far as stop.
N Insert and tighten down the screws (4) firmly.
N Install the shroud, @ 7.5.
N Install the rewind starter, @ 6.14.
N Install the cover, @ 7.5.
