N Tighten screws on muffler (12), @ 16.2.
N Fit test flange 5910 850 4200 (9) on manifold
flange (10).
N Insert screws (8) in the flange (10).
N Use drift 1110 893 4700 (7) to seal the impulse hose
(5).
N Connect hose (7) of pump 0000 850 1300 to the
nipple (arrow) on the test flange 5910 850 4200 (9).
Vacuum Test
N Push ring (13) of pump 0000 850 1300 (14) in
direction of pump’s hose connector (vacuum).
N Operate the pump 0000 850 1300 (14) until vacuum
of 0.5 bar (7.25 psi) is indicated.
If the indicated pressure remains constant, the engine is
airtight.
If vacuum drops, the oil seals are damaged and must be
replaced.
Pressure Test
N Push ring (13) of pump 0000 850 1300 (14) in
direction of pump’s handle (over-pressure).
N Operate the pump 0000 850 1300 (13) until pressure
of 0.5 bar (7.25 psi) is indicated.
If the indicated pressure remains constant, the engine is
airtight.
If the pressure drops noticeably, the engine has a leak.
N To find a leak, coat the suspect area with soapy water
and repeat the pressure test.
Bubbles will appear if there is a leak in the suspect area.
After finishing the test:
N Push the ring (13) of pump 0000 850 1300 (14) in the
other direction (to equalize pressure).
Pressure is equalized.
N Disconnect hose (7) of pump 0000 850 1300 (14)
from test flange 0000 850 4200 (9).
N Pull drift 1110 893 4700 (7) out of impulse hose (5).
N Take out the screws (8).
N Remove the test flange 5910 850 4200 (9).
N Remove the muffler (12), @ 16.2.
N Remove the sealing plate 0000 855 8106 (11).
N Fit a new muffler gasket, @ 16.3.
N Install the muffler (12), @ 16.3.
N Install the filter housing and carburetor, @ 8.3.
N Install the shroud, @ 7.5.
N Install the air filter, @ 7.3.
N Install the rewind starter, @ 6.14.
