13 Adjusting the Trimmer / Brushcutter
Adjust the length of the hip pad strap(1) so that the
carabiner (2) is about a hand’s width below the top of your
hip.
Attach the carabiner to the carrying ring(3) on the power
tool's shaft.
13.1 Balancing the Trimmer / Brushcutter
Let the trimmer / brushcutter sway on the harness until it
stops moving.
The mowing head or the metal cutting attachment should
come to rest gently on the ground or just above the ground.
If the mowing head or the metal cutting attachment will not
rest gently on or just above the ground:
Loosen the screwon the carrying ring (2).
Slide the carrying ring(1) along the drive tube and re-
tighten the screw.
Allow the trimmer / brushcutter to hang freely again.
Repeat and re-adjust as necessary to achieve the proper
balance.
Once the cutting attachment is properly positioned for
work, tighten the screw firmly and ensure that the carrying
ring is secure.
