4 Operation
General commissioning
Gel batteries are subject to special charg-
ing/maintenance/handling instructions.
Observe the instructions from the respective
manufacturer.
Battery discharge indicator
These high-level order pic
kers are equipped
with an integrated battery
discharge indicator
that is set for normal wet le
ad batteries (PzS)
as standard.
NOTE
If a different battery type is used, the setting
of the battery discharge indicator must be
adjusted by the authorised service centre.
Commissioning the battery
CAUTION
Danger of accidents
Before the start of each shift, check that the optional
battery lock is in good working order and functions
correctly.
CAUTION
Risk of short circuit
Ensure that the battery cable is not crushed or
trapped.
Before using the battery for the first time,
a proper commissioning procedure must
be performed. If the battery was obtained
separately to the industrial truck, the nominal
voltage, the required minimum weight and
the attached battery male connector must
be checked particularly carefully. This is
especially important if the batteries have
been transported over a long distance (e.g.
overseas) and are dry and pre-charged upon
delivery as a result. Observe the information
and guidelines from the battery manufacturer.
If the industrial truck is equipped with a Euro
battery male connector, make sure that the
voltage index pin is in the correct position.
The set voltage can be read through a display
window (1).
