foot), i.e. the handrail (2 in Fig. 10), steps and platforms (1
in Fig. 10), in order to have proper support.
2.4.8 FIRE EXTINGUISHER AND FIRST
AID KIT
• To respond to potential fi re or accidents, keep a fi re extin-
guisher and fi rst aid kit near the operator seat (Fig. 11).
• Periodically check that the fi re extinguisher is in good con-
dition.
Read the labels on the extinguisher giving instructions of
how to use it.
• Make sure you have a fi rst aid kit. Periodically check the kit
and replace overdue material.
• Prepare a list of useful emergency telephone numbers to
be dialed in the event of an accident.
2.4.9 ROPS E FOPS PROTECTION (Fig. 12)
• Do not remove the Roll Over Protective Structure (ROPS)
from the machine. The ROPS structure has been installed
to protect the operator if the machine tips over. It has been
designed to support the load if the machine tips over and
to absorb the energy impact. Replace the ROPS structure
if it is damaged or have it overhauled by qualifi ed bodies.
• The ROPS structure is complete with a Fall Over Protection
Structure (FOPS) which complies with the standards and
regulations of all countries. However, if this structure is
qualifi ed without authorization or is damaged, its strength
may be jeopardized along with its operating performance.
