5.5 HYDRAULIC SYSTEM (LIFTING/DRIVE PURPOSES)
5.5.1 HYDRAULIC OIL RESERVOIR
The hydraulic system serves two functions:
- lifting operations;
- pipe layer drive
The oil reservoir (2 in Fig. 58) is located at the back of the machine. Periodically check that the oil level
in the hydraulic system ranges between the max. and min. level sight glasses (1 & 2 in Fig. 59). Perform
this check keeping the machine on a fl at surface with the engine off.
Check the hydraulic oil level on a daily basis.
If the level is below the min. value required, open the door to access the hydraulic oil fi ll plug (3 in Fig. 59)
and fi ll with oil until the level between the min. and max. marks (1 & 2 in Fig. 59) is reached.
Change the oil after the fi rst 1000 hours of operation. Then, change the oil every 2000 hours or once a
year at least. Always change the oil and the oil fi lter at the same time.
Change the oil as instructed below.
