Istruction Manual for Operation and Maintenance SPX-960:
CAUTION
After turning off the engine, the oil and the parts contac-
ting it are at very high temperatures: touching them may
cause burns.
Wait until the oil cools down before starting operations.
- Open the cover of the lter located on top of the hydraulic
tank.
- Carefully undo the oil ll plug to discharge the internal pres-
sure. Then, take the plug out.
- Put a suitably sized container under the oil reservoir (2 in
Fig. 58).
- Remove the drain plug under the reservoir and let the oil
drain completely.
CAUTION
Replace the oil lter when changing the oil. On its way back and before reaching the tank the oil
goes through the lter that is located at the top of the hydraulic oil reservoir.
The lter installed in the drain circuit of the oil reservoir must be replaced the rst time after 50
hours of operation; then, every 1000 hours and whenever the oil is changed.
This is done as follows:
- considering that the lter cover has been removed already,
- take out the lter and the corresponding cartridge;
- remove any residual dirt;
- put the cartridge and lter cover back in place;
- t a genuine cartridge when the existing one needs replacement.
- When the oil lter has been replaced, tighten the oil drain plug in place.
- Fill with fresh oil through the ll hole on top of the reservoir until the level between the max. and min.
sight glasses (1 & 2 in Fig. 59).
- When the correct level has been reached, tighten the oil ll plug in place.
- Fit the removed lter cover back in place.
CAUTION
Do not mix oils of different brands. If oils different from those lled in the tank need to be used,
rst drain the reservoir and then ll it with the desired uid(s).
