Istruction Manual for Operation and Maintenance SPX-960:
ANTIFREEZE AGENT
• The antifreeze agent plays an important role in preventing corrosion and freezing.
• The use of antifreeze agents is essential also on sites where freeze is not a real problem.
• Dilute the antifreeze agent with sterile water.
• Natural water such as river or well water (hard water) contains plenty of minerals (calcium, magnesium,
etc.) which favor the formation of deposits inside the engine and radiator. If deposits form inside the
engine or radiator, they are extremely diffi cult to remove. In addition, deposits cause overheating due
to poor heat exchange. This is why we recommend diluting the antifreeze agent with water having a
hardness below 100 ppm.
• When fi lling antifreeze agent, always comply with the instructions provided in the “Instruction Manual
for Operation and Maintenance”.
• Non-diluted antifreeze agent is fl ammable: keep it away from fl ames.
• if the engine overheats, wait until it has cooled down before fi lling antifreeze agent.
• If the level of the antifreeze agent is low, the engine will overheat and corrosion problems will arise due
to the presence of air in the agent.
GREASE
• Grease is used to prevent the joints from bending and being noisy.
• There are greasing nipples, which are not included in the MAINTENANCE chapter, that do not need
periodic greasing because they are only used for overhauling purposes.
• Grease any element that gets stiff or noisy after long hours of operation.
• Remove any used grease that may leak out during greasing operations.
• Remove any used grease especially at points where sand or dirt may accumulate thus accelerating wear
of rotating parts.
CAUTELA
DISPOSE OF LUBRICANTS PURSUANT TO THE EXISTING REGULATIONS.
PERICOLO
Before carrying out any operation ensure that the machine is on a fl at ground.
Maintenance operations must always be carried out keeping the machine off and blocked.
The servicing intervals recommended in this manual are merely an indication and depend on normal and
proper machine operation, which can change according to machine scope, seasonal factors, etc..
If the machine is used in tough conditions, service intervals must be shorter.
CAUTELA
Before injecting grease in the greasing nipples, carefully clean the fi ttings to prevent mud, dust
or other materials from mixing with the grease, thus decreasing or even eliminating its lubricating
effect.
