• Remove the O-rings (3 and 4).
NOTE:
* Do not remove the crankshaft journal bearings unless abso-
lutely necessary.
* Make a note of where the crankshaft journal bearings are re-
moved from so that they can be reinstalled in their original po-
sitions.

When removing the crankshaft journal bearings, be care-
ful not to scratch the crankcase and the crankshaft jour-
nal bearings.
• Remove the countershaft assembly 5 and driveshaft assem-
bly 6.
NOTE:
See page 3-73 for the countershaft and driveshaft servicing.
• Remove the C-rings 7 and bearing pins 8.
NOTE:
Do not lose the C-rings and bearing pins.
• Hold the gearshift forks 9 and draw out the gearshift fork shaft
0 from the lower crankcase.
