Starter Motor Pinion
Removal/Installation
Remove left crankcase cover and
drive face.
Remove starter motor pinion.
Install the starter motor pinion in
reverse order of removal.
Starter Motor Pinion Inspection
y Pinion, reduction gear for wear out
or damage → replace it with new
one.
y Gear journal for wear out or
damage → replace it with new one.
Check the pinion for sliding in axial
direction smoothly.
y The pinion sliding in axial direction
not in smooth → replace it with new
one.
