Connectinganexternalmonitor
Toattachanexternalmonitor,dothefollowing:
1.Connecttheexternalmonitortothemonitorconnector;thenconnectthemonitortoanelectricaloutlet.
2.Turnontheexternalmonitor.
3.ChangethedisplayoutputlocationbypressingFn+F7.Thisenablesyoutoswitchbetweenviewing
outputontheexternalmonitor,thecomputermonitor,andbothmonitors.
Note:Ifyourcomputercannotdetecttheexternalmonitor,right-clickonthedesktop,thenselectScreen
resolution.ClicktheDetectbutton.
Notes:
•Donotchangethedisplayoutputlocationwhileamovingpictureisbeingdrawn,forexample,while
playingamovieoragame,orviewingabusinesspresentation.Closetheapplicationbeforechangingthe
displayoutputlocation,orchangethedisplaymodebeforeyouopenanMPEGletoplay.
•IfyouareattachinganexternalmonitorthatsupportsonlyVGAmode(640x480resolution),donotview
outputonboththecomputerdisplayandtheexternalmonitor.Doingsowouldcausetheexternalmonitor
screentobescrambledandtheoutputnottobedisplayed;inaddition,itcouldcausedamagetothe
screen.Usetheexternalmonitoronly.
•IftheexternalTFTmonitoryouconnecthasananaloginterface,ickersorripplesmightappearonsome
displays,suchastheshutdownscreenoftheWindowsoperatingsystem.Thisiscausedbytheexternal
TFTmonitor,andcannotbexedbyadjustingtheexternalTFTmonitororthecomputersidesettings.
Settingthemonitortype
Tosetyourmonitortype,dothefollowing:
1.Connecttheexternalmonitortothemonitorconnector,andthenconnectthemonitortoanelectrical
outlet.
2.Turnontheexternalmonitor.
3.Right-clickonthedesktop,andclickScreenresolution.
Note:Ifyourcomputercannotdetecttheexternalmonitor,clicktheDetectbutton.
4.SetResolution.
5.ClickAdvancedSettings.
6.ClicktheMonitortab.Checkthemonitorinformationwindowtomakesurethatthemonitortypeis
correct.Ifitis,clickOKtoclosethewindow;otherwiseproceedwiththefollowingsteps.
7.Ifmorethantwomonitortypesaredisplayed,selectGenericPnPMonitororGenericNon-PnP
Monitor.
8.ClickProperties.Ifyouarepromptedforanadministratorpasswordorconrmation,typethepassword
orprovideconrmation.
9.ClicktheDrivertab.
10.ClickUpdateDriver.
11.ClickBrowsemycomputerfordriversoftware,andthenclickLetmepickfromalistofdevice
driversonmycomputer.
