Considerationsforattachinganexternalmonitor
•Wheninstallinganoperatingsystem,youmustinstallthedisplaydriverforyourmonitorthatissupplied
withthecomputer,andthemonitorINFlethatissuppliedwiththeexternalmonitor.
•Ifyousetaresolutionhigherthantheresolutionyouareusingonthecomputermonitor,andusean
externalmonitorthatdoesnotsupportthatresolution,takeadvantageofthevirtualscreenfunction,
whichenablesyoutodisplayonlyapartofthehigh-resolutionscreenimageyourcomputerproduces.
YoucanseeotherpartsoftheimagebymovingthescreenwiththeTrackPointpointingdeviceoranother
pointingdevice.
•Iftheexternalmonitoryouareusingisoutdated,theresolutionandtherefreshratemightbelimited.

•BeforeyouattachtheDVImonitor,makesurethatthecomputerisattachedtotheexpansionunitand

ToattachtheDVImonitor,dothefollowing:
1.Turnoffthecomputer.
2.ConnecttheDVImonitortotheDVIconnectoroftheexpansionunit,andthenconnectthemonitor
toanelectricaloutlet.
3.TurnontheDVImonitorandthecomputer.Thesystemstarts.
IfthecomputeroutputdoesnotappearontheDVImonitor,dothefollowing:
•ForacomputerthatsupportsNVIDIAOptimusGraphics:
1.Right-clickonthedesktopandselectNVIDIAControlPanel.TheNVIDIAControlPanelwindow
opens.
2.IntheSelectaTasknavigationpaneatleftunderDisplay,clickSetupmultipledisplays.
3.Right-clickVerifyyourdisplayconguration,andthenright-clickonthemonitoriconandselect
eitherCloneModeorExtendedMode.
