Thischapterdescribeshowtopowerthereceiver,chargetheinternalbatteries,anduseanexternalpowersource.
Turning On/Off the Receiver
Toturnonthe receiver,pressandholdthepowerbuttonuntiltheLEDsbrieflyflash.Whenthereceiveristurnedon,thereceiver’s
channelsinitializeandbegintrackingallvisiblesatellitesatanytimeandlocation.
Toturnoffthereceiver,pressandholdthepowerbuttonformorethanthreeandlessthan10seconds(releasethepowerbutton
whentheBATTLEDblinkssolidred).Thisdelaypreventsthereceiverfrombeingturnedoffbymistake. 
Using Internal and External Power Sources
Thereceiverispoweredbytheinternalbatteriesoranexternalpowersourceconnectedtothepower/serialport.Ifanexternal
powersourceisconnected,thereceiverdrawspowerfromitoverthebattery.
Thereceiverwilldrawasmallamountofpowerfromthebatterieswhenitisturnedoff.Ifthereceiveris
placedinstorageforalongperiod,suchasafewmonths,thebatteriesmaybecomefullydischarged.Youwill
needtouseanexternalpowersupplyorrechargethe
batteriesbeforeuse.
