thecavity,andreplacetheoutletvalve.
8.Installthecoverorientingtherubberoutletvalveina
downwardposition-betweenapproximately5:00to
7:00whenviewedfromtheend(Figure57).
9.Securethelatch.

engine-oillevel.
Theengineisshippedwithoilinthecrankcase;however,
checktheoillevelbeforeandafteryoustarttheenginethe
rsttime.
Thecrankcasecapacityis8.04L(8.5USqt)withthelter.
Usehigh-qualityengineoilthatmeetsthefollowing
specications:
•APIClassicationLevelRequired:CH-4,CI-4orhigher.
•Preferredoil:SAE15W-40(above0°F)
•Alternateoil:SAE10W-30(below23°F)
ToroPremiumEngineOilisavailablefromyourdistributor
ineither15W-40or10W-30viscosity.Seethepartscatalog
forpartnumbers.Also,refertotheengineowner’smanual
(includedwiththemachine)forfurtherrecommendations.
Note:Thebesttimetochecktheengineoiliswhenthe
engineiscoolbeforeithasbeenstartedfortheday.Ifyou
havealreadyruntheengine,allowtheoiltodrainbackdown
tothesumpforatleast10minutesbeforechecking.Iftheoil
levelisatorbelowtheAddmarkonthedipstick,addoilto
bringtheoilleveltotheFullmark.Donotoverll.Ifthe
oillevelisbetweentheFullandAddmarks,youdonotneed
toaddoil.
1.Parkthemachineonalevelsurface.
2.Removethedipstick,wipeitclean,installitintothe
tube,andpullitoutagain(Figure59).
