Theblade-drivebelt,tensionedbythespring-loadedidler
pulley,isverydurable.However,aftermanyhoursofuse,the
beltwillshowsignsofwear.Signsofawornbeltaresquealing
whenthebeltisrotating;bladesslippingwhencuttinggrass;
frayededges;burnmarks;andcracks.Replacethebeltifany
ofthesesignsoccur.
ReplacingtheFrontMower-DeckBelt
1.Lowerthemowerdecktotheshopoor.
2.Removethebeltcoversfromthetopofthemower
deckandsetthecoversaside.
3.Onthefrontdeck,loosenthejamnutsontheidler
pulleystopscrewandthreadthestopscrewintothe
bracket(Figure81).
