1.Placeacleancontainerunderthewaterseparator
(Figure62).
2.Openthedrainplugandoperatethepumptodrain
contaminates(Figure62).

ReplacingtheFuel-FilterElement
1.Placeacleancontainerunderthewaterseparator.
2.Drainsomefuelbylooseningtheventplugand
openingthedrainplug(Figure62).
3.Disconnectthewatersensor(electricalconnector)
fromthebottomofthewaterseparator.
4.Cleantheareawherethelterelementmountstothe
head.
5.Removethelterelementandbowl.
6.Removetheelementfromthebowlandcleanthe
mountingsurface.
7.CleantheO-ringglandonthebowl.
8.Applyacoatingofcleanfuelorengineoiltothenew
O-ringandelementseal.
9.Spinthebowlontothenewelement,thenspinthem
bothontothelterheadbyhandonly.
Note:Donotusetools.
10.Closethedrainplug.
11.Connectthewatersensor(electricalconnector)from
thebottomofthewaterseparator.
12.Withtheventplugstillloosened,operatetheprimer
pumpuntilthefuelpurgesattheventplug.
13.Closetheventplug,starttheengine,andcheckfor
leaks.
Note:Correctasnecessarywiththeengineoff.

1.Cleantheareaaroundthefuel-lterhead(Figure63).

2.Removethelterandcleanthelter-head-mounting
surface(Figure63).
3.Lubricatetheltergasketwithclean,lubricatingengine
oil;refertotheengineowner’smanual(includedwith
themachine)foradditionalinformation.
4.Installthedryltercanister,byhand,untilthegasket
contactsthelterhead,thenrotateitanadditional
1/2turn.
5.Loosenthebanjottingonthefuel-lterhousing
(Figure64).
