Bushings
Thecasterarmshavebushingspressedintothetopand
bottomofthetube,andaftermanyhoursofoperation,the
bushingswear.Tocheckthebushings,movethecasterfork
backandforthandfromsidetoside.Ifthecasterspindleis
looseinsidethebushings,thebushingsarewornandmustbe
replaced.
1.Raisethemowerdecksothatthewheelsareoff
theoor.Blockthemowerdecksothatitcannot
accidentallyfall.
2.Removethetensioningcap,spacer(s),andthrust
washerfromthetopofthecastorspindle.
Note:Recordthepositionofthewashersandspacers
beforeremovalsothedeckpitchdoesnothavetobe
adjusted.
3.Pullthecastorspindleoutofthemountingtube.
Allowthethrustwasherandspacer(s)toremainon
thebottomofthespindle.
4.Insertapinpunchintothetoporbottomofthe
mountingtubeanddrivethebushingoutofthetube
(Figure96).
