UsingStabilizer/Conditioner
Useafuelstabilizer/conditionerinthemachinetoprovide
thefollowingbenets:
Keepsfuelfreshduringstorageof90daysorless.For
longerstorageitisrecommendedthatthefueltankbe
drained.
Cleanstheenginewhileitruns
Eliminatesgum-likevarnishbuildupinthefuelsystem,
whichcauseshardstarting
Important:Donotusefueladditivescontaining
methanolorethanol.
Addthecorrectamountofgasstabilizer/conditionerto
thegas.
Note:Afuelstabilizer/conditionerismosteffective
whenmixedwithfreshfuel.Tominimizethechanceof
varnishdepositsinthefuelsystem,usefuelstabilizerat
alltimes.
FuelingtheMachine
Note:Refuelingtheengineisdifcultwhenusingalarger
refuelingcontainersuchasacontainerwitha19L(5US
gal)capacity.
Tomakefuelingthemachineeasierusethefollowing
equipment:
afuelcontainerwithapproximatelya4to8L(1to2US
gal)capacity
afunnel
1.Cleanaroundthefueltankcap.
2.Removethecapfromthetank.
3.Fillthefueltankwithunleadedgasolinetowithin6to
13mm(1/4to1/2inch)fromthetopofthetank.Do
notllintothellerneck.
Important:Donotllthetankmorethan6mm
(1/4inch)fromthetopofthetankbecausethe
gasolinemusthaveroomtoexpand.
4.Installthefuel-tankcapandwipeupanyspilledfuel.
CheckingtheSafetyInterlock
System
ServiceInterval:Beforeeachuseordaily
CAUTION
Ifinterlockswitchisdisconnectedordamaged
themachinecouldoperateunexpectedlycausing
personalinjury.
Donottamperwiththeinterlockswitch.
Checktheoperationoftheinterlockswitchdaily
andreplacedamagedswitchbeforeoperating
themachine.
Important:Itisessentialthatthesafetymechanisms
onyourmachineareconnectedandinproperoperating
conditionpriortooperatingyourmachine.
Thesafetyinterlocksystemisdesignedtopreventtheengine
fromstartingunlesstheparkingbrakeisset.
TestingtheStarterInterlock
ServiceInterval:Beforeeachuseordaily
1.Movethemachinetoalevelsurface.
2.Chockthewheelsofthemachine.
3.Disconnectthespark-plugwires.
4.Releasetheparkingbrake.
5.Withthemotion-controlleverintheNEUTRALposition
turnthekeytotheSTARTposition.
Note:Thestartermustnotrotatetheengine.
Ifthestarterrotatestheengineofyour
machine—themachinedoesnotpassthistest,
donotoperateit.ContactyourauthorizedToro
servicedistributor.
Ifthestarterdoesnotrotatetheengine—the
machinedoespassthetest:Settheparkingbrake,
connectthespark-plugwiretothesparkplug,and
removethechock(s)fromthewheels.
CheckingtheMachinefor
LooseHardware
ServiceInterval:Beforeeachuseordaily
1.Shutoffengine,waitforallmovingpartstostop,
removekey,andsetparkingbrake.
2.Visuallyinspectmachinefordamagedorwornparts,
andcheckforloosehardware.
Note:Replaceanydamagedpartsandtightenallloose
hardwarebeforeoperatingthemachine.
