2.Movethesteering-control/motion-controlleverin
NEUTRALpositionandsettheparkingbrake;refer
toSteeringControl(page15),Motion-ControlLever
(page15),andParking-BrakeLever(page16).
Note:Tostarttheengine,theparkingbrakemustbe
set.(Theoperatorcanstarttheenginewhileheorshe
isofftheplatform.)
3.MovethethrottlelevermidwaybetweentheSLOWand
FASTpositions;refertoThrottleControl(page15).
4.Iftheengineiscold,pullupthechokecontroltothe
ONposition;refertoChokeControl(page15).
Note:Iftheengineiswarm,pushdownthechoke
levertotheOFFposition.
5.RotatetheignitionswitchtotheSTARTposition;refer
toIgnitionSwitch(page15).
Note:Releasetheswitchassoonastheenginestarts.
Important:Donotcranktheenginecontinuously
formorethantensecondsatatime.Iftheengine
doesnotstart,allowa60secondcool-downperiod
betweenstartingattempts.Failuretofollowthese
guidelinescanburnoutthestartermotor
6.IfthechokecontrolisintheONposition,gradually
movetheleverdown,towardtheOFFpositionasthe
enginewarmsup.
ShuttingOfftheEngine
1.Movethesteering-control/motion-controllevertothe
NEUTRALpositionandbringthemachinetoafullstop;
refertoSteeringControl(page15)andMotion-Control
Lever(page15).
2.PlacethethrottleinthemidwaybetweentheSLOWand
FASTpositions;refertoThrottleControl(page15).
3.Allowtheenginetorunforaminimumof15seconds,
thenturntheignitionswitchtotheOFFpositionto
shutofftheengine;refertoIgnitionSwitch(page15).
Note:Youmusthavetheparkingbrakeinthereleased
positiontoshutofftheengine.
4.Settheparkingbrake;refertoParking-BrakeLever
(page16).
5.Removethekeytopreventchildrenorother
unauthorizedpersonsfromstartingtheengine.
6.Closethefuel-shut-offvalvewhenthemachinewillnot
beinuseforafewdays,whentransporting,orwhenthe
machineisparkedinsideabuilding;refertoOpening
andClosingtheFuel-Shut-OffValve(page23).
DrivingtheMachine
CAUTION
Machinecanturnrapidlybymovingthesteering
controltothefarrightorleft.Operatormaylose
controlofthemachine,whichmaycausedamage
tothemachineorinjury.
•Usecautionwhenmakingturns.
•Slowdownthemachinebeforemakingsharp
turns.
Important:Ifthemotion-controlleverdoesnotreturn
totheNEUTRALpositionwhenyoureleaseit,contactan
AuthorizedServiceDealer.
Important:Tobeginmovingthemachine(forwardor
backward),thebrakelevermustbereleased(pulledup)
beforeyoumovethemotion-controllever.
DrivingtheMachineForward
1.Movethemotion-controllevertotheNEUTRAL
position.
2.Releasetheparkingbrake.
3.Todrivethemachine,performthefollowing:
•Tomovethemachineforwardinastraight
line,centerthesteeringcontrolandmovethe
motion-controlleverforward.
Note:Themachinewillmovefasterthefarther
themotion-controlleverismovedfromthe
NEUTRALposition.
