AirGap:0.76mm(0.030inch)
Makesurethattheairgapbetweenthecenterand
sideelectrodesiscorrectbeforeinstallingthespark
plugs.Useaspark-plugwrenchforremovingand
installingthesparkplugsandagappingtool/feeler
gaugetocheckandadjusttheairgap.
RemovingtheSparkPlugs
1.Positionthemachineonalevelsurface,engage
theparkingbrake,shutoffthesprayerpump,
shutofftheengine,andremovethekey.
2.Releasethelatchonthebackoftheseatandlift
theseatforward.
3.Pullthewiresoffthesparkplugs(Figure44).
4.Cleanaroundthesparkplugstopreventdirt
fromfallingintotheengineandpotentially
causingdamage.
5.Removethesparkplugsandmetalwashers.

Note:Ifyouseealightbrownorgraycoating
ontheinsulator,theengineisoperatingproperly.
Ablackcoatingontheinsulatorusuallymeans
thattheaircleanerisdirty.
Important:Donotcleanthesparkplugs.
Alwaysreplaceasparkplugwhenithasa
blackcoating,wornelectrodes,anoilylm,
orcracks.
2.Checkthegapbetweenthecenterandside
electrodes(Figure45)andbendtheside
electrode,ifthegapisnotcorrect.
