importanttopreventbatterydamagewhenthe
temperatureisbelow0°C(32°F).
1.Removethebatteryfromthechassis;referto
RemovingtheBattery(page51).
2.Checktheelectrolytelevel;refertoChecking
theElectrolyteLevel(page52).
3.Connecta3to4Abatterychargertothebattery
posts.Chargethebatteryatarateof3to4A
for4to8hours(12V).
Important:Donotoverchargethebattery.
4.Installthebatteryinthechassis;referto
InstallingtheBattery(page52).
StoringtheBattery
Ifthemachinewillbestoredformorethan30days,
removethebatteryandchargeitfully.Eitherstore
itontheshelforonthemachine.Leavethecables
disconnectedifitisstoredonthemachine.Store
thebatteryinacoolatmospheretoavoidquick
deteriorationofthechargeinthebattery.T oprevent
thebatteryfromfreezing,ensurethatitisfully
charged.

ServiceInterval:Beforeeachuseordaily—Check
thetirepressure.
Aftertherst8hours—T orquethewheel-lug
nuts.
Every100hours—Torquethewheel-lugnuts.
Every100hours—Inspecttheconditionand
wearofthetires.
Checkthetirepressureevery8hoursordailyto
ensureproperlevels.Fillthetiresto138kPa(20psi).
Also,checkthetiresforwearordamage.
Checkthewheelstoensurethattheyaremounted
securelyaftertherst8operatinghoursandthen
every100hoursthereafter.Torquethefrontandrear
lugnutsto102to108N∙m(75to80ft-lb).
Checkthetireconditionatleastevery100hours
ofoperation.Operatingaccidents,suchashitting
curbs,candamageatireorrimandalsodisrupt
wheelalignment,soinspectthetireconditionafter
anaccident.
Adjustingthe
Differential-LockCable
ServiceInterval:Every200hours
1.Movethedifferential-locklevertotheOFF
position.
2.Loosenthejamnutssecuringthedifferential-lock
cabletothebracketonthetransaxle(Figure49).
