SolenoidRemoval
1.Parkthemachineonalevelsurfaceandsettheparkingbrake.Stopthe
engine,waitforallmovingpartstostopandremovethekey.
2.Disconnectthebatterybyremovingthenegativebatterycablerst,then
thepositivecablefromthebattery.
3.Disconnectthenegativeandpositiveterminalsfromthestartersolenoid.
4.Disconnecttheenginewireharnesstothestartersolenoid.
5.Removethe2screwssecuringthestartersolenoidtoframe.
SolenoidTest
1.Disconnectthesolenoidfromthewiringharness.
2.Withamulti-metersettotheOhmorcontinuitysetting,checktoensurethat
terminalsCandDareopen(nocontinuity).
3.Apply12voltstoterminalAandgroundterminalB.TerminalsCandDshould
nowbeclosed(continuity).
SolenoidInstallation
1.Installthe2screwssecuringthestartersolenoidtotheframe.Torquescrews
to6N•m(53±7in-lb).
2.Connecttheenginewireharnesstothestartersolenoid.
3.Connectthenegativeandpositiveterminalsfromthestartersolenoid.
4.Connectthepositivebatterycablerst,thenthenegativebatterycableto
thebattery.
