BatteryReplacement
BatteryRemoval
1.Parkthemachineonalevelsurfaceandsettheparkingbrake.Stopthe
engine,waitforallmovingpartstostopandremovethekey.
2.Disconnectthebatterybyremovingthenegativebatterycablerst,then
thepositivecablefromthebattery.
3.Unhookthebungeecordfromthetabonthebackofthetower.
WARNING
Whenremovingorinstallingthebattery,donotallowthebattery
terminalstotouchanymetalpartsofthemachine.Donotallow
metaltoolstoshortbetweenthebatteryterminalsandmetalparts
ofthemachine.
4.Slidethebatteryoutwardandawayfromthemachine.
BatteryInstallation
WARNING
Whenremovingorinstallingthebattery,donotallowthebattery
terminalstotouchanymetalpartsofthemachine.Donotallow
metaltoolstoshortbetweenthebatteryterminalsandmetalparts
ofthemachine.
1.Slidethebatteryintopositiononthemachine.
2.Hookthebungeecordtothetabonthebackofthetower.
3.Connectthepositivebatterycablerst,thenthenegativebatterycableto
thebattery.
BatteryTest
1.ConnectyourDVMtothebattery,blackleadtothenegativepost,redleadto
thepositivepostofthebattery.
2.PoweruptheDVMandsetupmeasurementsforDCvoltage.
3.Turntheignitionswitchtothe“ON”position.Recordthevoltagereading.
4.Startthemachineandletitrunfor5secondsorless.Batteryvoltageshould
readbetween13.6to14.8volts.Shutoffthemachine.
5.Pushthemin/maxbuttonontheDVM.Minimumvoltageduringcranking
shouldbenolessthan9.6VDC(VoltsDirectCurrent).Ifvoltageislessthan
9.6VDC,chargethebatteryat2ampsforaminimumof4hours.Repeat
steps1-3.
6.Ifminimumbatteryvoltageisstillbelow9.6VDCduringcranking,replace
thebattery.
