Measure the resistance of the three phase motor
windings L1 to L2 (See Figure 5), L2 to L3 (Figure 6),
L1 to L3 (Figure 7.) Equal resistance should be
measured through all combinations of motor windings.
(Note: If the motor is hot, the internal overload of the
motor may be open. The resistance measured will be
infinite through all combinations. Check for debris in
the induced draft blower housing, or a seized motor.)
Step 3
Check the resistance of L1, L2, and L3 to the green
ground wire on the plug of the induced draft blower
motor (Figures 8-10.) Infinite resistance should be
measured. If measured resistance is detected, the
motor is shorted to ground. Replace the motor. If the
motor checks out good, continue on to Step 4.

If the resistance is unequal through any combination
of motor windings, replace the induced draft blower
motor. If the resistances are equal through all
combinations, continue on to Step 3.
