9.1.6 Environmental
At room temperature, an average power output of up to 24W does not require a cooling fan; when
powering the Orion HD25 only, no fan is needed. At higher outputs, the optional cooling fan may be
necessary, contact Trillium for more details.
9.2 HD25 Retract
The HD25 Retraction mechanism offers the ability to retract/deploy the gimbal into/out of the
aircraft fuselage to protect gimbal for takeoffs/landings and reduce drag during transit to the
mission location.
9.2.1 Mechanical Interface
Drawings of the retract in the retracted and deployed positions are shown below. Note that these
include the unsealed external regulator which can be optionally attached to the retract servo
housing; if 24VDC is supplied to the assembly through some other means, this component can be
eliminated.
