Why is the measured value unstable on my Union Instruments Measuring Instruments?
G
Gary MooreAug 2, 2025
An unstable measured value can occur if the inlet pressure controller can't maintain a constant inlet pressure because the process pressure is too high; in this case, a pressure booster pump must be installed. Direct sunlight causing rapid temperature changes can also be a factor, so direct sunlight must be prevented. Other causes include rapid temperature changes due to environmental influences or an inexact/unmaintained inlet pressure; in this case, check whether the input pressure is too high.

What to do if my Union Instruments CWD3000 EXP have a drift of measured value?
C
Colleen LeeAug 8, 2025
Drift in the measured value can happen if the calibration no longer achieves the required point or if the frequency controller is at its maximum value. It can also be caused by strong compressed air supply fluctuation which can no longer be corrected. Another cause could be that the heat exchanger is contaminated with soot, in which case the heat exchanger must be cleaned with hot water and then dried with compressed air. Alternatively, the thermoelectric battery may be contaminated and must be cleaned and carefully dried.

What to do if my Union Instruments CWD3000 EXP have a faulty ignition?
R
Raymond MorganAug 13, 2025
A faulty ignition can happen if the temperature setting is incorrect. If the temperature setting is too high, the temperature threshold must be reduced. If it's too low, the temperature threshold must be increased. Also, ignition electrodes may be corroded due to frequent ignition, in that case you should replace the ignition electrode.

What does 'Int. pressure' error message mean on Union Instruments CWD3000 EXP?
D
David WaltonAug 17, 2025
The 'Int. pressure' error message indicates an alarm due to inadequate combustion gas or calibration gas. It can also be triggered by adjustable threshold with a default of 14 mbar.

What does 'Overtemp' error message mean on Union Instruments CWD3000 EXP Measuring Instruments?
J
Jessica EvansAug 23, 2025
The 'Overtemp' error message indicates that the flame is too hot (Wobbe signal > 76 mV) or that there is a temperature rise in the inner tube of the thermoelectric battery > 50°C.

What does 'Fault' error message mean on Union Instruments CWD3000 EXP?
S
Sandra RiceAug 28, 2025
The 'Fault' error message indicates that the gas pressure is too low, there's a fault in the thermoelectric battery, or there's a defective PT 100 temperature sensor.
