7.3 Making Measurements
Press Start and the measurement will begin according to the test parameters entered in the
Test Setup menu.
• The elapsed time is indicated below red stop button on the right side of the display. The
stop button will revert back to a green Start button when acquisition is complete. For V-
Scout measurements, the acquisition wavelength is also displayed.
Press Stop to terminate the measurement manually, if required.
Use the Home icon (FX150/FX300) or App key (FX300) to toggle between active test
applications (OTDR, OPM, VFL).
7.3.1 Trace Display
When a new measurement is started, only those traces will be displayed on the screen. Any
previous traces can be accessed via the Traces tab until unit is switched off. Upon completion,
the view will default initially to the selected test mode viewing screen (V-Scout, Event (Auto), or
Measure (Manual).
If multiple wavelengths are selected in the Test Setup menu, the measurement will be
performed using all selected wavelengths one after another without stopping and will be
overlaid on screen for comparison and review. V-Scout traces are overlaid and displayed
automatically.
