6.26.3 Connecting the Diagnostic Tool
Use the diagnostic tool to access the diagnostic capabilities of the ECM.
1. Shut down the machine.
2. Open the engine compartment.
3. Remove the cap from the connector (1) on the wiring harness.
4. Plug the diagnostic tool (2) into the wiring harness.

1. Connect the diagnostic tool. For further information, see Connecting
the Diagnostic Tool on page 57.
2. Do one of the following:
ð Press and hold button A (1) of the diagnostic tool and turn the key to
ON. This will set the ECM to the FLASH LED mode.
ð Press and hold both of the buttons (2) of the diagnostic tool and turn
the key ON. This will set the ECM to the LOCK OUT START mode.
3. Check the mode setting by observing the LED display (3) of the ECM
during the five seconds immediately after turning the key ON.
• “L_O” = LOCK OUT START
• “F_L” = FLASH LED
