Removing the plunger assembly
Cleaning the plunger
Clean the plunger by sonicating the plunger in 50:50 methanol/water for a few
minutes. The parts of the plunger assembly are shown in the figure below.
Disassembled plunger
Warning: To avoid the possibility of eye injury or cuts, handle the
plunger with care. Wear safety glasses and use the plunger insertion
tool. Be aware that the pieces of a broken plunger are very sharp.
