5.18 Blade Height Scale Adjustment
After the entire sawmill has been aligned and all adjustments made, check that the blade height
scale indicates the true distance from the blade to the bed rails.
1. Move the saw head so the blade is positioned directly above one of the bed rails. Measure from the
bottom edge on a down-set tooth of the blade to the top of the bed rail (or stainless steel sleeve
if applicable).
See Figure 5-34.
2. View the blade height scale with eyes level with the indicator.
3. Loosen the indicator bracket mounting bolts and adjust the bracket until the indicator is aligned with
the correct mark on the scale. Retighten the bracket mounting nut.
For example, if the measurement from blade to bed rail was 14 3/4" (375 mm), make sure the
indicator reads 14 3/4" (375 mm) on the scale.
