Gigabit Media Independent Interface (GMII) Signals
Gigabit Media Independent Interface (GMII) is designed to IEEE Std 802.3-2002 Clause 35.
It is used for 1000 Mb/s. The physical interface is used for tri-speed operation of the
Ethernet MAC.
GMII Interface
Figure 4-6 shows the Ethernet MAC configured with GMII as the physical interface. In this
interface, not all the ports of the Ethernet MAC are used.
