3. Select the suitable main bearing number

from the table.
NOTE:
• Example: If the crankshaft journal mark
a
is “81” and the cylinder block mark
b
is
“04,” then the main bearing number
c
is
“1.”
• Main bearing #3 is a thrust bearing.
Disassembling the oil pump
1. Remove the screws
1
and disassemble
the oil pump.
Checking the oil pump
1. Check the oil seals and gasket for tears.
Replace if necessary.
2. Check the teeth of the gears for cracks or
wear and the oil pump case for
scratches. Replace if necessary.
Assembling the oil pump
1. Replace the new oil seal
1
and gasket
2
if necessary, and then tighten the
screws
3
to the specified torque.
