Removing the drive shaft
1. Remove the drive shaft assembly and
pinion, and then pull out the reverse gear
and thrust bearing.
Disassembling the drive shaft
housing
1. Remove the cover, oil seals, and needle
bearing.
Disassembling the reverse gear
1. Remove the needle bearing from the
reverse gear using a chisel.
Disassembling the lower case
1. Remove the retainer and shim(s).
2. Remove the needle bearing from the
retainer.
3. Remove the needle bearing.
