 New tires have a relatively low grip on the
road surface until they have been slightly
worn. Therefore, approximately 100 km
should be traveled at normal speed before
any highspeed riding is done.
For tires with a direction of rotation mark

:
 Install the tire with the mark pointing in the
direction of wheel rotation.
 Align the mark

with the valve installation
point.

CHECKING AND TIGHTENING THE SPOKES
The following procedure applies to all of the
spokes.
1. Check:
 spoke
1
Bends/damage  Replace.
Loose  Tighten.
Tap the spokes with a screwdriver.
A tight spoke will emit a clear, ringing tone; a
loose spoke will sound flat.
2. Tighten:
 spoke
(with a spoke wrench

Be sure to tighten the spokes before and after
break-in.
