YASKAWA TOEPYAIGA8001B GA800 Drive Maintenance & Troubleshooting 357
Wire Gauge and Torque Specifications for UL Listing
WARNING! Electrical Shock Hazard.
Make sure that the protective ground wire complies with technical standards and local safety regulations. The IEC/EN 61800-5-
1:2007 standard specifies that you must wire the power supply to automatically de-energize when the protective ground wire
disconnects. You can also connect a protective ground wire that has a minimum cross-sectional area of 10mm
2
(copper wire) or 16
mm
2
(aluminum wire). The leakage current of the drive will be more than 3.5 mA in drive models;
2xxxB
2xxxC
4002B to 4371B
4002C to 4371C (with built-in EMC filter turned ON)
4414 to 4720
T414 to T720
If you do not obey the standards and regulations, it can cause serious injury or death.
Refer to Three-Phase 200 V Class on page 357, Three-Phase 400 V Class on page 362, and 6-Phase/12-Pulse 400 V
Class on page 367 for the recommended wire gauges and tightening torques of the main circuit terminals.
Note:
The recommended wire gauges are based on drive continuous current ratings with 75 °C (167 °F) 600 V class 2 heat-resistant indoor PVC
wire. Assume these conditions:
Ambient temperature: 40 °C (104 °F) maximum
Wiring distance: 100 m (328 ft) maximum
Normal Duty rated current value
Use terminals +1, +2, +3, -, B1, and B2 to connect a peripheral option such as a DC link choke or a braking resistor. Do not connect other
items to these terminals.
Refer to the instruction manual for each device for recommended wire gauges to connect peripheral devices or options to terminals +1, +2,
+3, -, B1, and B2. Contact Yaskawa or your nearest sales representative if the recommended wire gauges for the peripheral devices or
options are out of the range of the applicable gauges for the drive.
The metric wire gauge values are provided as reference information from equivalent AWG sizes and not exactly the same sizes as the
AWG/kcmil values. Obey local safety regulations for wire sizes and make sure that the ferrule or crimp terminals are correct for your size.
