9. Screw the inner top plug (II) onto the oil sump.

7. Screw on the inner bottom plug (II) of the oil sump.
8. Fill the mechanical seal sump with lubricating oil.
6. Place the vessel containing the oil on a horizontal surface and let it stand for a few minutes to allow any water in it to settle to the bottom:
• Oil clean and free from water: the mechanical seal is in good condition and new oil can be placed in the system.
• Oil with a very little water: this may be due to bedding-in of the mechanical seal during the initial operating hours, creating a negligible amount
of water.
• Oil containing water and dirt; the mechanical seal must be inspected and replaced with a new one. The replacement must be made by an
authorised Service Centre;
