BAND
SELECT
The
BAND
SELECT
determines
the
range
and
operation
of
the
electronic
tuner
inside
the
TV.
If
you
ran
the
AUTO
SEARCH
feature
(on
the
SETUP
Menu),
the
tuning
band
was automatically
set
for your
TV.
If
you
did
not
use
AUTO
SEARCH,
the
BAND
SELECT
must
be
set
to
match
your viewing needs,
or
you may
not
get
a
TV
picture.
There
are
four bands:
• B-CAST
(BROADCAST)
- for
standard
over-the-air
broadcasts.
•
CATV-for
most
standard
Cable-TV
(CATV)
systems.
•
HRC-
for
CATV
systems
that
use
HRC
(Harmonically-Related Carrier).
•
ICC
- for
CATV
systems using
ICC
(Incremental-Coherent Carrier).
To
Manually
Select
the
BAND SELECT:
1. Press
MENU
until
the
SETUP
Menu
is displayed.
2. Press
SELECT
until
the
BAND
SELECT
option
is
highlighted.
3. Press
ADJUST
UP
or
DOWN
to
get
the
BAND
SELECT
status display.
4.
Use
the
ADJUST
control
to
highlight
the
desired
Band
(B CAST,
CATV
HRC
or
ICC).
5. Press
SELECT
to
select
the
next
menu
option,
MENU
to
return
to
the
next menu,
or
ENTER
to
return
to
normal
TV
viewing.
NOTE:
If
necessary, adjust
the
AFC
MODE
for
the
band
selected.

Some
channels
that
are
valid
in
CATV,
HRC
or
ICC
are
not
valid
in
B CAST.
If
you change
the
BAND
SELECT
to
B
CAST
while
tuned
to
one
of
these
stations,
the
TV
will continue
to
display
the
channel
in
the
old
band.
For
example, if you
are
tuned
to
channel 110
in
the
CATV
mode
and
change
the
Band
to
B CAST,
the
TV
will still display channel 110
in
the
CATV
mode
(CH
110
is invalid
in
B CAST).
The
TV
will, however,
remember
you have
changed
the
band
and
will
tune
to
channels in
the
new
band
when
you select a valid channel
in
the
new
band.
NOTE:
The
BAND
SELECT
selection
can
only
be
changed when
the
ANTENNA
or
CABLE
source is
selected.

Recommendations
• Simply use
the
AUTO
SEARCH
feature.
After
AUTO
SEARCH
has
run, you
should
not
have
to
manually
set
the
BAND
SELECT.
•
After
setting
the
BAND
SELECT,
verify
that
the
proper
AFC
MODE
is selected.
