DRIVING OPERATION
 G218
SETTING IN MOTION - USING THE
CLUTCH PEDAL
1. Start the engine
2. Depress the clutch pedal.
3. Select road or reduced gears.
4. Select the suitable gear for putting
the tractor in motion.
5. Shift the reversing lever to the re-
quested driving direction of the trac-
tor (forward or reverse).
6. Slightly increase the engine speed.
7. Get the parking brake ready for re-
leasing.
8. Release the clutch pedal until the
travel engagement point and while
simultaneously increasing the en-
gine speed continue releasing the
clutch pedal smoothly.
9. Release the parking brake com-
pletely.
10. Start moving smoothly and slowly.

Also use this method of setting
the tractor in motion if you need to
move the tractor sensitively, e.g.
when attaching an implement, etc.

Very fast acceleration may cause
overloading of the power train, in-
creased fuel consumption, exces-
sive wear of tyres and damage of
the transported load. Only use
the 1
st
gear to put the tractor in
motion when driving with a heavy
trailer uphill or in rough terrain.
If the engine revolutions with the
start of tractor are higher than 1400 revo-
lutions/min, L gear of multiplier is auto-
matically shifted (two controls with a tur-
tle symbol are lit) while it is not important
whether the controller of multiplier on
dashboard is on or off.
If the controller of multiplier on
dashboard is on, while starting the trac-
tor, L gear of multiplier is always auto-
matically shifted (two controls with a “tur-
tle” symbol are lit) independent on the
number of engine revolutions while start-
ing (i.e. even when the engine revolu-
tions are lower than 1400 revolu-
tions/min).
