2. System Description
 e RTCA SP Instrument is designed for label-free cell based assays.  e instrument
integrates microelectronics with cell and molecular biology.  e core of the instrument is
a microelectronic biosensor array incorporated into each well of standard-sized 96-well
microplate devices.  is permits the RTCA SP Instrument to measure the activity of living
cells in real-time without any labels or reporters. Any number of cellular parameters such
as attachment, spreading, growth, death, and even speci c morphological changes can be
simply and reliably detected with the RTCA SP Instrument.
 e RTCA SP Instrument includes the following main components:
 RTCA Analyzer
 RTCA SP Station
 RTCA Control Unit with RTCA So ware preinstalled
